The range of sounds attainable from messing with this tree (which seems to have exploded) was shocking. For a random find, it’s turned out to be a staple in my library. Found and recorded on Lynn Peak, North Vancouver.
Prepping production sound for dialog edit at 30,000 feet 🙂
The winter wind on Kelly’s Mountain (Cape Breton Island, NS) was gusting to around 70 kilometres
per hour during this storm in December 2012. It howled, whipped and whistled through the towers while roaring over the peaks above. Trees creaked and cracked; a curious raven called as it came and went. Recorded by a pair of miniature omnis + a pair of miniature cardioids + my MKH416 shotgun.
